Frequently Asked Questions

The LED strips on the transparent back of Nothing Phones — they light up in patterns depending on caller, app notification or battery level. You can combine custom Glyph patterns with ringtones. Cases for Nothing Phone must have cut-outs for the Glyphs, otherwise the function is invisible.

Since the code merger in 2022 the two are nearly identical — same engine, different design accents, different default apps. If you move from old OnePlus to new, OxygenOS feels more like ColorOS today.

Motorola Edge is pure Android (very close to stock, less bloatware), good price-performance mid-range. Razr is the most popular flip foldable outside Galaxy Z Flip. ThinkPhone is exclusive to Motorola — business profile with IT admin features.

No — MagSafe is Apple-proprietary. Sony Xperia 1 V/VI and 5 V have Qi wireless charging (15W) without magnetic snap. Cases with built-in magnet ring make MagSafe mounts compatible.

Yes — shipped from our Basel warehouse, A-Post 1-2 working days, express next business day or free in-store pickup. Free above CHF 15.

Guide & know-how

OnePlus, Motorola, Nothing, Sony Xperia, Asus ROG and more smartphone brands — at RPD you also find cases, tempered glass, USB-C cables and spare parts beyond the major players. OnePlus belongs to the BBK group (same family as Oppo) — since the ColorOS-OxygenOS merger in 2022 OxygenOS is much closer to Oppo's ColorOS. Motorola is owned by Lenovo — Edge line as flagship, ThinkPhone for business. Carl Pei Nothing Glyph interface — the LEDs on the back signal calls and notifications. Sony Xperia focuses on pro photo features (Pro-I, 1 IV/V). Asus ROG Phone is gaming-specialised. Shipped from our Basel warehouse, same-day dispatch by 4 pm, free above CHF 15 and 2-year Swiss warranty. Invoice payment available (credit check by Powerpay).

Which other brands does RPD stock?

Beyond Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, Oppo and Huawei we carry accessories for several more brands. OnePlus (BBK group, OxygenOS now very close to Oppo's ColorOS since 2022 merger) — OnePlus 12, 13, Nord 4. Motorola (Lenovo subsidiary) — Edge as flagship (Edge 50 Ultra, Edge 50 Pro), Razr (foldable clamshell, recently very successful), ThinkPhone for business. Nothing (Carl Pei, ex-OnePlus founder, founded 2020) — Phone (1), Phone (2), Phone (2a), Phone (3a) with transparent back and Glyph interface. Sony Xperia — Pro-I, 1 V/VI, 5 V as photo/video pro devices, no MagSafe. Asus ROG Phone — gaming with AeroActive cooler and trigger buttons. TCL, Realme, Vivo and other smaller brands available subject to stock.

Brand-specific tech

OnePlus OxygenOS since the ColorOS-OxygenOS merger 2022 nearly identical to Oppo's ColorOS — same engine, different design accents. SuperVOOC 80W fast charging. Motorola Edge brings pure Android (very close to stock), Ready For desktop mode. Motorola Razr is the most popular flip foldable outside Galaxy Z Flip. Nothing uses NothingOS (Android-based with dot-matrix design accent) and the Glyph interface — LEDs on the back light up depending on caller/app notification. Sony Xperia Pro line targets photo professionals — variable tele zoom lens, manual photo control like on Alpha cameras. Asus ROG has active coolers, BFI display mode for higher refresh rates in games.

Which accessory fits which brand?

Cases are model-specific per brand and model — OnePlus 12 differs from OnePlus 13. Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a distinctive camera module. Nothing Phone needs special cases with cut-outs for the Glyph interface (otherwise the LED function is invisible). USB-C is standard on all modern devices. Wireless charging varies by brand and model — OnePlus 12 has 50W wireless, Motorola Edge 50 has 15W, Nothing Phone (2) has 15W, Sony Xperia 1 V has 15W, Asus ROG has none.

Pick your case by daily routine

For cyclists we recommend outdoor cases with up to 2 m drop protection plus handlebar mount. Car commuters benefit from cases with magnetic plate (none of these brands has MagSafe). Business users pick wallet cases (Motorola ThinkPhone targets this market). Gamers prefer Asus ROG with active cooler attachment. Design fans choose Nothing or transparent cases for Motorola Razr.
