Which Apple Watch do I have?
Identify the series and case size of your Apple Watch – key for the right band and screen protector.

Pick your Apple Watch directly
Fastest: in the Watch app
- iPhone › Watch app › General › About.
- Or on the watch: Settings › General › About.
- You'll find the model and case size.
Identify by model number
The model number (format A2xxx) is engraved on the back of the case and shown in the Watch app under About. It maps series and size uniquely.
Identify by series & size
For protection, the case size in mm matters most. Here's how to tell:
Case size
38/40/41 mm (small) or 42/44/45/46/49 mm (large). On the back – decisive for band & protection.
Series
SE, Series 4–10 or Ultra. Ultra = 49 mm titanium with orange Action button.
Design
Rounded, slim edges = Series 7 and newer. Rugged, flat titanium case = Ultra.
Model number
A-number on the back of the case; the Watch app shows the exact match.
Tip: When unsure, measure the case height in mm – that's what glass and bands follow. Find matching protection via the finder above.
