Qi is the original wireless standard (5 W default, 7.5 W iPhone, 15 W Android). MagSafe is Apple's 2020 magnetic standard (15 W on iPhone 12+). Qi2, launched 2024, is the open successor — uses the same magnetic alignment as MagSafe and charges at 15 W. Practical: Qi2 chargers work with all MagSafe iPhones plus Qi2-certified Android devices.
