The factory ships a UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) layer plus polymer film that you should not remove yourself. For additional protection only soft, flexible hydrogel films from third parties qualify (self-healing for micro scratches, fold-compatible). For the cover display classic 9H tempered glass is technically possible.
