iPhone 17 Pro accessories: what you actually need

Contents3
Start with what already works for your iPhone 17 Pro. Check your adapter, cable and charging routine before buying replacements. A case, screen protector or power bank can be useful without being compulsory for every phone.
Check protection and charging first
For a case, check the exact model, accessible buttons, a clear connector and compatibility with glass and cameras. A raised edge alone does not guarantee protection. For magnetic accessories, browse iPhone 17 Pro MagSafe cases. Test the actual combination rather than judging grip solely by a magnetic ring. See Will your old iPhone case fit?
An iPhone 17 Pro screen protector adds a protective layer without guaranteeing an unbroken display. The case must not lift it. With camera protection, also check case clearance and compare pictures with and without protection, especially backlighting and flash. Extra transparent surfaces can affect images.
You can charge with the included USB-C cable and keep a suitable existing adapter. Apple states up to 50 percent in around 20 minutes under its test conditions with a 40 W adapter or higher. This does not mean sustained power is guaranteed. For a new USB-C fast charger, check USB-PD profiles and the port actually used, including simultaneous connections on multiport models. An existing USB-A adapter can still charge with a suitable cable without promising the same fast-charging performance.
Which accessory solves your problem?
| Situation | Check first | Buy if needed |
|---|---|---|
| Battery runs short away from home | Missing energy, weight and output | Power bank and suitable cable |
| Car or bicycle navigation | Grip, access and installation | Suitable mount, charging optional |
| Several devices on your desk | Each device’s ports and charging method | Charging station or existing separate chargers |
Choose a USB-C power bank for your actual needs. Neither 5000 nor 20000 mAh is right or wrong for every commuter; mAh alone does not give a fixed number of phone charges. For magnetic models, also check charging method, case compatibility and grip. Read more about choosing a magnetic power bank.
A clamp mount without charging may be enough in a car. A bicycle attachment must suit its intended use; magnetic grip on a desk does not prove this. See bicycle phone mounts. An existing non-magnetic Qi pad can also remain useful if compatibility, positioning and speed suit you.
Before ordering
- Note the exact model and equipment you own.
- Identify one problem, such as insufficient energy or awkward placement.
- Check the whole combination, including case, charging profile and connector.
- Buy only missing parts. A USB-C connector alone proves neither suitable MacBook charging power nor fast data transfer.
