Which screen protector for the iPhone 17?

Contents5
Choose a protector explicitly approved for your exact iPhone model and, ideally, the case you plan to use. Shape, adhesive and cutouts can differ. Labels such as 2.5D, 3D or privacy do not prove compatibility or a particular level of protection by themselves.
What to check before buying
Confirm the model and generation in the device settings. Then compare the protector maker’s compatibility information with your exact phone and case. Matching screen diagonals are not enough: camera openings, sensor areas, edge shape and adhesive coverage can differ. If the maker does not list the combination, ask before buying.
Choose a finish by preference
| Finish | May suit you if you want | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Clear | a familiar screen appearance | model approval, adhesive and edge coverage |
| Matte | a matte surface | image appearance and touch feel of the specific product |
| Privacy | to reduce side views | viewing angles, brightness and day-to-day usability |
| Rounded or edge-covering | more edge coverage | approval with your case and exact shape |
Matte finishes and privacy filters vary by product. A privacy filter reduces side visibility only at certain angles. It does not replace careful handling of confidential content. Coatings also vary and do not guarantee scratch or impact protection.
Check the case and protector together
A case lip may touch a protector or put pressure on its edge. A small gap may leave more of the display uncovered. The terms 2.5D and 3D are not standard compatibility approvals. Look for explicit approval of the exact protector and case combination. Read our guide to screen protectors and cases.
Dust, installation, adhesive and the geometry of the display and protector can contribute to bubbles or lifted edges. Follow the included instructions and inspect the result in good light. There is no single cause to assume. See our installation guide.
Test functions after installation
Check touch input, the front camera and Face ID after fitting. Sensor cutouts and materials vary by protector. Correct installation does not guarantee identical performance with every accessory. If a feature is affected, check alignment using the product instructions and contact the maker if the issue continues.
Camera protection is optional
A separate lens protector is a personal choice. Check model approval, case fit and openings. Take test photos with and without flash after fitting. If image quality or reflections are affected, remove the protector and compare again. Browse screen and camera protection and compatible protective cases.
