Audio cables at RPD for smartphone, headphones, HiFi system, car and TV — from the classic 3.5 mm jack (AUX) to USB-C-to-3.5-mm adapter cables for modern Android phones and optical Toslink cables for TV and soundbar. Important: Apple removed the 3.5 mm jack starting with iPhone 7 (2016) — current iPhones (all from iPhone 7 onward) need a Lightning-to-3.5-mm adapter, iPad Pro M2/M4 and iPhone 15+ a USB-C-to-3.5-mm adapter. We stock gold-plated jack plugs for clean transmission, braided models in 1 m / 2 m / 3 m and car-friendly 30 cm versions for the centre console. Ships from Basel, 2-year Swiss warranty, free above CHF 15. Invoice payment available (credit check by Powerpay).

Current iPhones (from iPhone 7) have no headphone jack on iPhone any more. You need a Lightning-to-3.5-mm adapter (iPhone 7–14) or USB-C-to-3.5-mm (iPhone 15+).
AUX (Auxiliary) is the classic 3.5 mm jack socket, especially in older cars and HiFi gear. Pure analogue stereo.
HDMI ARC supports Dolby Atmos and higher bandwidth. Toslink is limited to stereo PCM or Dolby Digital 5.1 but electrically isolated.
Gold does not oxidise and stays clean for years — useful for frequent plugging. Sonic difference is marginal, durability clearly better.
Shipped from our Basel warehouse — A-Post 1–2 working days, express next business day or free in-store pickup. Free above CHF 15.
For smartphone-to-car / boombox / active speakers: 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm jack cable (AUX). For current iPhones (all from iPhone 7, no jack output): Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter cable — MFi-certified recommended. For iPhone 15+ and modern Android phones without jack: USB-C to 3.5 mm. For TV and soundbar with digital audio: optical Toslink cable (max 6 m for stable transmission).
Pure 3.5 mm jack is analogue — quality depends on shielding and connector material. Gold-plated plugs do not oxidise and deliver clean transmission. USB-C-to-jack adapters contain a small built-in DAC that sounds different per chipset — Apple's own adapter is the reference. Optical Toslink cables are digital, immune to ground loops and ideal for TV-to-soundbar. Key distinction: charging cables only carry 5 V power, audio cables carry analogue stereo or digital S/PDIF.
Best pick: braided nylon cables with aluminium connector and gold-plated contacts — last twice as long as plain PVC, bend repeatedly without cable break. For car, phone in mount and stage use, pick models with strain relief on the plug. CE marking and EMI shielding are mandatory — cheap unshielded cables can hum with smartphones.
30 cm for car centre console and phone in mount, 1 m as standard for bag and travel, 2 m for sofa-to-amplifier or PC-to-speaker, 3 m for events and longer distances. Optical cables up to 6 m, beyond that signal attenuation.
