Lightning to USB-C cables at RPD enable fast charging from iPhone 8 with USB-PD 20 W — about 30 minutes to 50 % instead of 90+ minutes with the old USB-A cable. With this you fast-charge iPhone 8 to iPhone 14, iPads up to the 2018 generation and AirPods Pro 1 on modern USB-C adapters and MacBooks. We recommend MFi-certified (Made for iPhone) — the cables contain the Apple authentication chip and are not blocked by iOS updates. Important: the cable alone is not enough, you also need a USB-PD adapter with at least 20 W. Nylon braids in 1 m, 2 m and 30 cm plus compact travel versions. Same-day dispatch from Basel, 2-year Swiss warranty, free above CHF 15. Invoice payment available (credit check by Powerpay).

iPhone 8 to iPhone 14: fast charging with USB-PD 20 W possible. iPhone 5/5S/5C/SE 2016/6/6S/7 do not support USB-PD (max 12 W on any cable) — there the cheaper USB-A model suffices. iPad (2018 and older, Lightning variants): fast charging 12–18 W depending on model. AirPods Pro 1 (Lightning case): 5 W. Modern MacBook and USB-C adapter as power source ideal, also direct sync at the Mac without an adapter.
With a USB-PD adapter and a Lightning-to-USB-C cable, iPhone 8+ charges in 20 W to 50 % in 30 minutes (vs ~90 minutes over USB-A). Data transfer runs at USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) — Lightning never supports more. For full fast-charge speed Apple requires MFi certification — non-certified cables can throttle down or throw „accessory not supported“ warnings. Note: USB-PD is not Quick Charge (QC) — iPhone strictly needs USB-PD or Apple's own protocol. A QC 3.0 adapter from the Android world only charges the iPhone at slow 5 W.
Apple now offers the cable in a premium braided variant. Third-party MFi cables with nylon braid and reinforced strain relief last twice as long under heavy use as plain PVC models, come in several colours and are tested to 10,000–30,000 bend cycles. We recommend braided models for heavy users and travellers.
30 cm for MacBook + iPhone on the desk and power bank in backpack, 1 m standard for travel and bag, 2 m for sofa and bed. For the car prefer USB-A models since most car sockets are still USB-A.
iPhone 8 and newer: 20 W to 50 % in 30 minutes with a USB-PD adapter (at least 20 W). MFi cable and USB-PD adapter are required. iPhone 7 and older: no USB-PD, max 12 W.
Yes: a USB-PD adapter with at least 20 W and USB-C port. Apple original (20 W) or affordable USB-C PD adapters from Anker, Belkin etc work. Quick Charge (QC) is NOT enough — iPhone needs USB-PD.

Apple original and MFi-certified third-party are technically equivalent — both have the Apple chip and work with iOS. MFi third-party is often cheaper and available in more colours/lengths.
